A HEAVY HEART
Charlie Kirk has been martyred.
Many of us have been listening to him for a long time… so this is shocking.
Heartbreaking. Overwhelming. What it does is it pulls back the curtain of evil, revealing there are people in this world who really want to win, not listen or understand.
There is an evil in people who feel the need to be right, who don’t care about your point of view and, because they are sons or daughters of the Devil, they hate your faith in Jesus. And in the end, they’d really rather you just be gone, so they don’t have to tolerate you anymore.
That’s what happened to Charlie.
A VESSEL FOR CHRIST
He was very outspoken. Fearless. Knowledgeable. He just wanted Jesus to be known by all, and for everyone to be free of the mental imprisonment of political, woke, fallacious ideologies and the lies of the Devil, vying to wrest our attention off of faith, and onto self-disillusionment and arrogance.
Well, they lost. Charlie’s martyrdom is stirring up something else entirely. The mission of the Devil failed.
Christianity cannot and will not be silenced. Prune it and it grows. Take away one, a particularly anointed one, and millions grow in its place.
As Christians, what we are, and what Charlie Kirk was when it all comes down to it, is a vessel for Christ.
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A VESSEL
In Acts 9:15, the Lord tells Ananias, a disciple from Damascus, to go find Paul because Paul is a “chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.” (NKJV)
This isn’t just for what Ananias was called to do, but what we ALL are called to do: bear the name of Jesus before everyone.
As Christians, we are called to deny ourselves, daily, pick up our cross, and follow Jesus. (Matthew 16:24-25) To be prepared as a vessel for Christ, we MUST empty ourselves so we can put on Christ, as Paul describes in Romans 13:14. Without first emptying ourselves of the world and its influences, we run the risk of becoming lukewarm (reference to Revelation 3:16), or even worse, deceiving ourselves into thinking we are followers of Christ when all we are doing is forming habits, but not building faith or relationship with Jesus, personally.
A FAITHFUL SERVANT
Without faith, it is impossible to please God, as Paul declares in Hebrews 11:6. How can we be a faithful vessel if we’re too distracted by the things of this world? If we’re not fixated on Scripture, prayer, and God’s presence in our lives, then we’re leaving ourselves vulnerable; open to temptations of all kinds, leading us, even in subtle ways, back to living in the world and for the world, seeking pleasure instead of conviction, comfort instead of God’s voice.
We look for ways to be entertained instead of ways to be obedient. And it hurts our soul, because no matter how much entertainment we cram into our minds, our souls remain depleted. And the terrifying reality is, the soul is all that will be left when our bodies die.
THE WAR BREWS ON
Charlie knew all this, which is why he started Turning Point USA. That’s why he was outspoken about Christian principles and values. He was a vessel for Christ, constantly arming himself for the battle against the lies of the Devil, the schemes of the demonic authorities in unseen places. He was always combating lies with truth and feeding Scripture to us about how to live. He knew what he was saying because he’d studied it, studied it well, and more importantly—he had a calling over his life to do what he was doing, and he was faithful to do it.
If your heart is heavy about his death, you’re not alone. Every true Christian understands this pain. Let me know how I can be praying for you, and whatever you do, don’t give up. Charlie didn’t, Jesus didn’t, and neither should you.
We’re not promised tomorrow. Charlie knew that, and he found his last tomorrow was September 10th, 2025. Keep his memory, come alive in Christ, and be ready for enemy fire. It will come, but fear not if you receive attack for doing exactly what God called you to do! He will bless your obedience. God will never leave you nor forsake you, so don’t give in when it gets hard. And when the time comes, you’ll be taken home to your Lord and Savior, too.
